Your data, privacy.

The short version

The Sound Gallery is a small radio show site. We don't run analytics, we don't sell data, and we don't have logins. The only personal info we ever see is what you send us on purpose — an email, a leaderboard submission. That's it.

02

Who we are

The Sound Gallery is operated by AVIRA out of Toronto, Canada. Reach us at avira@thesoundgallery.ca.

03

What you choose to share

When you email us via the contact link, we receive your email address and whatever you write. When you submit a top score to the minigame leaderboard, we receive the email you provided and your score. Don't submit anything you'd rather we not see.

04

What the site stores on your device

We use your browser's localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference and your best minigame run. This stays on your device — we don't read it. Clearing your browser data wipes it.

05

Server logs

Our host (Vercel) keeps standard request logs — IP address, user-agent, timestamp — for security and to keep the site running. These logs aren't tied to you personally and are rotated by the host on their schedule.

06

Embedded players

We embed Spotify and YouTube players so you can listen and watch in place. When you play one, the embed talks to Spotify or YouTube directly and is subject to their privacy policy and cookies — not ours. We don't see what you play.

07

What we don't do

No Google Analytics. No Meta pixel. No third-party tracking scripts. No ad networks. No email marketing lists. No selling, renting, or sharing data with brokers.

08

How we use what you send

Emails go to AVIRA's inbox so we can reply, listen to your music, or read your shout-out. Leaderboard submissions appear on the page in an obfuscated form (e.g. k***@example.com) alongside your score.

09

How long we keep it

Contact emails stay in our inbox until we archive them. Leaderboard entries stay until you ask us to remove them or until the leaderboard resets at the end of a season.

10

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct, or delete the personal info we hold about you at any time. Email avira@thesoundgallery.ca and we'll respond within 30 days. Under PIPEDA (Canada), you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we mishandled your data.

11

Kids

This site isn't directed at children under 13. If you're a parent and discover your child has sent us info, email us and we'll delete it.

12

Changes

If we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top and, where reasonable, give a heads-up on the site.
